Performance Evaluation of Alloy Mechanical Seal M74N-140 In Chemical Pumps

Performance Evaluation of Alloy Mechanical Seal M74N-140 In Chemical Pumps

For fluid conveying equipment such as chemical pumps, its sealing performance is directly related to production safety and environmental protection standards. Alloy mechanical seal M74N-140 is a high-performance sealing solution that is widely used in chemical pumps to ensure reliable sealing and prevent leakage under harsh working conditions.

The performance evaluation of mechanical seal M74N-140 should first start with checking the sealing material. The material used must be compatible with the medium conveyed by the pump to avoid seal failure caused by chemical erosion. Secondly, monitor the temperature and pressure during pump operation to ensure that they are within the design range of the sealing material to avoid excessive temperature or pressure from damaging the sealing interface.

Vibration detection of the pump can also indicate the status of the mechanical seal. Use vibration analysis tools to monitor the operating status of the pump. Abnormal vibration may indicate wear or misalignment of the sealing component, which needs to be investigated and corrected in time. In addition, check the leakage rate regularly, use leak detection equipment or visually check for signs of leakage. Any leakage beyond expectations should be regarded as a warning signal.

In addition to evaluating the sealing performance of the M74N-140, specific inspection points in chemical pump maintenance include:

  • Mechanical seal: Check the sealing surface for scratches, cracks or corrosion, and confirm the alignment and tightness of the sealing ring and the shaft.
  • Bearing and shaft: Check the bearing wear, shaft straightness and radial runout, and ensure the normal fit of the shaft and seal assembly.
  • Pump housing and piping: Check the integrity of the pump housing and connecting pipes to prevent external leakage and internal corrosion.
  • Lubrication and cooling system: Ensure that the lubricant is sufficient and clean, and the cooling system is functioning properly to maintain the best working conditions for bearings and seals.
  • Electrical and control system: Check the insulation of the motor and electrical system, ensure that the readings on the control panel are accurate, and the electrical connections are free of corrosion.

Maintenance personnel should pay close attention to the above specific inspection points and take preventive maintenance measures to extend the service life of the pump and optimize its overall performance.
