The Journal bearing of the steam driven feedwater pump is an important component that supports the pump shaft. Its main function is to withstand the radial force of the pump shaft and ensure that the pump shaft maintains a stable position during operation. Radial bearings are usually sliding bearings, which mainly rely on lubricating oil to form a layer of oil film between the bearing and the bearing seat, creating good lubrication between the bearing and the pump shaft. It has the advantages of simple structure, stable operation, and large load-bearing capacity.

The main functions of the BFP pump journal bearings are:

1. Provide radial support: The sliding bearing bears radial loads, supports the weight of the rotor and centrifugal forces caused by rotor mass imbalance, ensuring the stability and reliability of the rotor during operation.

2. Reduce friction and wear: Sliding bearings form an oil film between the bearing and the bearing seat through lubricating oil, reducing the friction coefficient between the bearing and the pump shaft, reducing wear, and extending the service life of the bearing.

3. Large bearing capacity: Sliding bearings have a large bearing capacity and are suitable for high load conditions.

4. Adapt to changes in load direction: The joint surface of the sliding bearing can be tilted to adapt to the requirement that the load direction is close to perpendicular to the joint surface.

5. Easy to adjust clearance: The clearance of sliding bearings can be adjusted by placing shims of different thicknesses or adjusting the distance between the bearing seat and bearing cover, making it convenient for maintenance and adjustment.

6. Stable operation: The sliding bearing can automatically adjust the axis during operation to adapt to the bending deformation of the shaft, ensuring the stable operation of the pump.
