For steam turbines, the measurement of the speed of the impactor is a necessary test before the new unit is put into operation or each major overhaul of the unit is connected to the grid, with the aim of preventing the impactor from getting stuck. However, the installation position of the emergency governor cannot observe the “striking” or “retracting” state of its impactor, nor can it determine the speed at which the impactor operates. At this point, a dedicated tachometer needs to be set up to monitor the speed of the impactor.

The JM-C-3ZF impactor speed monitoring device is an important operating monitoring parameter for steam turbine units. When the unit speed reaches 110% of the rated speed, the turbine should be shut down in an emergency manner. To achieve this goal, the unit security system is equipped with an emergency governor in the front bearing box of the steam turbine. The emergency governor’s impactor “knocks out” under the centrifugal force generated at 110% of the rated speed, which can cause the steam turbine to stop in an emergency.

The JM-C-3ZF speed monitor adopts microcomputer intelligent technology to solve the problems of speed monitoring and impactor monitoring simultaneously. Display and record the turbine speed on a regular basis. When the emergency governor collides with the sub action, the internal memory function stores the speed of the action in the instrument. By pressing the “Set” button on the panel, the speed or sub action speed can be conveniently displayed.
