The steam turbine actuator is generally a continuous control type, consisting of servo valves, shut-off valves, unloading valves, trip solenoid valves, one-way valves, and pressure measuring joints on the DEH control block. The electrohydraulic servo valve J761-003 is the core component of the actuator, which receives electrical signals and controls the amount of oil flow into the cylinder.

The servo valve J761-003 manages the opening or closing of the steam valve by adjusting the high-pressure oil entering the actuator. Specifically, when the valve needs to be opened larger, servo valve J761-003 introduces pressure oil into the lower chamber of the piston, and the oil pressure overcomes the spring force and steam force to open the valve larger. When it is necessary to turn down the valve, the servo valve connects the lower chamber of the piston to drain oil, and under the steam force of the spring force, the valve is turned down.

When receiving a forward current command signal, a shoulder of the slide valve opens the EH oil supply port, the actuator enters the oil, and the steam valve opens. The feedback signal output by the LVDT of the steam valve increases, and the deviation between the command and feedback signal continuously decreases. The valve opening drive command to servo valve J761-003 also decreases. When the output command of the servo valve is balanced with the reaction force of the spring, the baffle returns to the middle position. The slide valve is in a balanced state, and the actuator stops feeding oil at this time, while the position of the steam valve remains unchanged.
