Yoyik introduced that the accumulator bladder used for fire-resistant oil of steam turbine is Butyl rubber or fluororubber. The general EH oil system using butyl material can achieve the expected service life. However, it is not recommended to use Nitrile rubber which is usually for ordinary hydraulic oil, otherwise the bladder will be easily damaged.

Besides selecting unsuitable materials, there are many factors that can cause the rupture of the LNXQ-A-10/20 FY accumulator bladders, including improper operation in various assembly steps, improper operation in various pre inflation steps, calculation errors in pre inflation pressure force, large temperature changes (including seasonal temperature differences), long-term lateral vibration and shaking, fluid corrosion, inertial impact of small solid impurities in the medium, and so on.

When the bladder ruptures, the hydraulic system may still operate normally for a short period of time, but the broken bladder will eventually cause the system’s pressure to become unstable, which may cause sudden failure of the accumulator. Instantaneous or short-term mixing of oil and gas may lead to system leakage or explosion, causing serious safety issues. Therefore, it is necessary to inspect and maintain the rubber bladder bag in a timely manner.

Yoyik suggests that for the safety of the system, please choose an accumulator air bag with pressure and material that meet the pressure and corrosion resistance used on site.
